Talk with Melissa

Welcome to a team with whom your financial journey is as personal to us as it is to you.

I’m Melissa, and while my dad, Grady, built this firm on decades of dedication, I’m the one who will be walking alongside you as we shape the future. Before I joined our family practice, I spent 12 years working with StopAfib.org, a nonprofit advocating for afib patients. There, I learned how crucial it is to ensure that people never feel financially stuck when it comes to making important life decisions.

That experience shaped how I approach financial planning. I saw how even a modest fee to access health-changing information could be a barrier for someone on a fixed income, and I made it my mission that when you work with me, we’re not just planning for retirement; we’re aiming for you to have the freedom and the confidence to embrace opportunities without financial worry.

When you come on board, you’re not just getting the wisdom passed down through generations. You’re also getting a partner who understands that your life, your goals, and your preferred experience come first. I’m here to implement the plans we create together help you live the life you want, now and always.

Born in Miami and raised in Alpharetta, Melissa graduated from Milton High School before heading to Florida State University. After college, she spent nine years in Washington, DC, where she began her career with StopAfib.org, a nonprofit advocating for afib patients. That work shaped her belief that financial preparedness opens doors to life opportunities, and that no one should ever feel financially stuck when it matters most.

She moved back to Georgia in 2018 to be closer to family and now lives in Cherokee County with her beloved Golden Retriever, Riley. Melissa’s a lifelong Braves fan and a regular at her local CrossFit gym, where she’s found community, accountability, and a whole lot of sore muscles.

Melissa’s interest in money and planning started incredibly young. As a kid, she loved anything to do with numbers and insisted her mom buy her a giant old cash register from a garage sale. She spent years ringing up imaginary customers, writing toy checks, and eventually asking if she could help her mom balance her checkbook—a lost art these days, but one she embraced wholeheartedly.

Today, that early spark has grown into a purpose. As a financial advisor, Melissa believes money is a tool, not the goal, and that the best financial plans support a life filled with purpose, connection, and joy. She takes a goals-based, people-first approach, helping clients build wealth with intention, clarity, and confidence. Clients describe her as warm, thoughtful, and refreshingly straightforward.

When she’s not working with families, you’ll likely find her on an evening walk with Riley, cheering on the Braves, or spending time with the people she loves.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Grady attended Northside High School in Buckhead and then Georgia State University. He and his late wife, Stephanie, built their life in Alpharetta, where they raised their two children, Matthew and Melissa.

With more than 40 years as a financial advisor, Grady has always believed that this work is about more than managing money—it’s about showing up for people. Many of the families he’s served have been with him for decades, a testament to his deeply relational approach and the trust he’s earned across generations.

Today, Grady lives in Big Canoe, where he enjoys playing golf and spending time on the lake. Outside of work, he serves as a volunteer leader for GriefShare, a role he has held for nearly six years. Supporting others through loss is a calling rooted in his own journey, and it aligns with the same compassion and steady presence he’s brought to clients throughout his career.
